Discovery Days

Discovery Days take place during the school day in our Foundation Stage Unit. The children will be given the opportunity to meet new friends, try out lots of exciting activities and experience what school life will be like in our Foundation Stage Unit. All children must be supervised during these sessions. If your child attends William Farr Pre-school or Busy Hands, they will attend our sessions below with their pre-school. As this is a special time in preparing for starting school, we ask that younger siblings do not attend.

Friday 29th November- Stick Man
Monday 16th December- Christmas
Friday 10th January- Winter
Tuesday 28th January- Chinese New Year
Tuesday 11th February – Valentine’s Day
Tuesday 4th March– Pancake Day
Friday 21st March – Easter

The session comprises of stories, structured play activities and songs and rhymes which our pre-school children are invited to join with our current Foundation Stage children. The children in Foundation Stage love being the experts at these sessions and ‘showing our new children the ropes’, helping them to get a feel for their classrooms, the routines that we have and the amazing learning that happens everyday.
